G
This is one of the great mysteries in reading. How do you say the letter g. Well g is a two-way letter which means you can say it two ways. guh or juh. But really it is quite simple.
when there is an e after the g you say juh(like marge)
when there is no e you say g guh(like goat)
pig
pigeon
gig
edge
fog

read this poem and see what I mean
MARGE THE LARGE SINGING PIG
marge
the large
singing pig
got a gig
at a lodge
above the garage
of a college
singing
a hodge podge
of knowledge
she was sage
as she sang
from the stage
with a twang
her leg on a log
she sang like a frog
when in came a fog
worse than a smog
it was hard to judge
the edge of the stage
when she felt a nudge
and flew into a rage
she tried not to budge
or plunge from the stage
but her large orange cage
started to nudge
her toward the edge
of the ledge of the stage
as she fell from the log
she tried to snag
her cage through the fog
she felt the stage sag
and lunged for her bag
but she slipped
off the ledge
of the lodge garage
and plunged in a rage
with her large orange cage
from the edge of the stage
For instance finger- but if you realize that this is really a three letter word containing f ing er then you know that it does not have and e in the word. er is a letter of its own. it is not an e
finger this is a three letter word f ing er
singer(no e) so you say guh
