A prime example of a one-way letter is s because it always sounds the same.  From our “Reading and Riding Alphabet” we know that.   We also know that sh isn't really an s.  It might look like an s but it is a different letter. Just like kids look like their parents, but they are different people. S and sh are both easy letters because they  can only be said one way but they are different letters.

THE REALLY TERRIFIC THING ABOUT S IS THAT IT ALWAYS SOUNDS THE SAME.  IT SOUNDS THE SAME AT THE BEGINNING OF A WORD AS IT IS DOES AT THE END OF THE WORD BECAUSE IT IS A ONE WAY LETTER.
